Food Network reality TV show stops for a bite

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) — A reality TV show crew was recording a segment in Panama City Beach.

The Food Network’s ‘The Great Food Truck Race’ features food trucks from across the US, competing for a $50,000 grand prize.

The three remaining trucks are Wally’s Waffles, Argentina’s Empanadas, and Bao Bei.

Bay County Film Commissioner Julie Gordon said network shows like this, choosing to shoot in Bay County, reflect the community’s current and future growth. 

“Their impact, the economic impact for these things, this show will air in perpetuity, which means forever,” Gordon said. “It will advertise Panama City Beach and Bay County So it’s a huge deal for them to be here, not just for the moment, but forever, as long as it airs, which will be forever. “

The food trucks and the food network crew will be in St. Andrews on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Salty Dog Day.
